The descriptions below outline the steps involved in creating a New Panel Kit. No special construction knowledge is required. Any competent builder possesses the necessary skills. At the same time, special attention must be paid to the assembly process, inspection scheduling and inclusion of special attachments and fastenings.
To start, the New Panel Kit design team does the engineering and layout planning to interpret your plans in terms of structural insulated panel construction.
Panels are fabricated in our Englewood facility, pre-cut and laid out on the factory floor. Each piece is ensured to fit, once it arrives on your job site.
Once the foundation is ready, your kit is delivered to the site, ready for assembly. Whether the house is built on a concrete slab or on an NPK Floor System, the walls and roof get stood up in a matter of a few days.
These images show the panels fitted over the bottom plate, with custom Z-flashing and keyed together with pressure-treated lumber.
Once the walls have been erected, a ridge beam can be installed. Then the roof panels are flown in and fastened.
And, when all the panels have been screwed and fastened as per engineering specifications, the shell is ready for windows, doors and roofing.
